All Islamic scholars advise you to keep beard and wear niqaab.. IT is not Sunnah but Prohpet(pbuh) advised all his sahabas to keep beard.. so to answer your question, no it is farz but advisable.. I am not laqeer ka faqeer. Have you seen Saqlain Mushtaq, Saeed Anwar and Junaid Jamshed- they improved their life by becoming completely Islamic and have seen happiness in simple life..
Thats the key phrase my man, "advisable" means I have a choice to take it or leave it without any repercussions. You can have happiness without beard by just being simple, hard working and fair in your daily life, it's not rocket science.
