I was talking to a mom the other day that said that with her first son, they held him all the time when he slept. They would not put him down. All night long they would take turns. Then around five months, they started putting him down, and voilà he was sleeping through the night!
I think back to when bunny was a newborn, there are all sorts of things that I can’t believe we did or experienced (some we had no choice about). We used to spend hours on feedings. I’d nurse then we’d supplement with formula and by the time she was done, it was time for the next feed! I barely slept that first month. We were also afraid of taking our eyes off of her, let alone leaving her in a room alone (even with an open door, and within eye sight, we were nervous).
I think when you’ve got the inexperience of first-time parents combined with all the focused attention a first baby gets, all sorts of silliness happens. Please share yours!
I also held my daughter and wouldn't let her down. I didn't know how to soothe her and why she was crying. I use to hold her until my hubby would come back from work and then run to the bathroom. i was much wiser with my 2nd one.
Another major mistakes like not introducing home food to her early on in life and giving her those baby jars of peas. She use to spit those right on my face.
no kids yet but I have seen my sister crying when her first born started to walk and fell quite a few times.. everytime he fell, she had tears in her eyes.. he had reflux issues and again everytime he threw up, my sister used to cry while cleaning up and blaming herself for not being able to help him out.. she was a mess.. we used to worry about her.. now mashaAllah she has four boys and last time when I was there, her third one fell down while playing she looked out the window and told him to be brave and get up n come inside so she could kiss the owie to make it all better.. I was surprised but couldn't stop laughing.. she was too busy to go out to him let alone cry for him :D
omg, im doing it all now, if she sneezes once, we rush to get blankets for her, ( stopped doing it now, ), If she even LOOKS like she will begin to cry, we pick her up, if she cries even for a second, my husbands like ohuu iskey pait mein dard hai.....although we have no idea if thats the case.i dont sleep continously i leave my alarm on to wake up and look into her cot every hour.....
another sillyiness,-ive bouight her atleast 10 pairs of shoes already...and shes only 2months old....the just look cute..look on my husabnd and mum-not so cute.
