First Allah, then the prophet then your parents....

ok so we know that our parents come third in say a category of who is most important for us as muslims, now, we hav eno qualms listening to our parents, ( most) kids listen and obey their parents more so than anything else, and we also seem to have alot of respect and affection to them too, so why is it, that we dont seem to be obeying anything that God or the prophet pbuh has told us to do, they are priority right over our parents, yet we dont listen to most of what allah has asked of us as muslims.

now the reason we listen to my mum dad is because we love them, does that mean we dont love ( GOD FORBID) allah and the prophet…

Re: First Allah, then the prophet then your parents....

Its not because you don't love god.
Maybe its because parents are aapke saamne.
And people do listen to what Allah has asked. The extent to which who listens is an individual issue. The same with not everyone listens to what their parents say all the time.

Re: First Allah, then the prophet then your parents....

I mean, alot of us muslims dont do what we are required by islam, yet we are happy to obey our mum dad to an extent, if my dad told me to do or asked me to do a certain degree or even small thigns for him, i would. however allah asked me to pray 5 times a day, or cover my head/body etc or whatever, and i dont.......

Re: First Allah, then the prophet then your parents....

please mods dont move this thread, i dont want relgious answers thanks, just peoples own views....

Re: First Allah, then the prophet then your parents....

I think just because parents are in front of us and can scold us and all tht we listen to them more.
Moreover as I said how much deen one follows differs from individual to individual.
Obeying parents is also a part of deen.So when listening to parents you are following one of Allah's commands.

If we werent afraid of Allah(swt) and didnt want the sawaab why would we listen to parents?

Re: First Allah, then the prophet then your parents....

i know alot of non-muslims listen to their parents..........

Re: First Allah, then the prophet then your parents....

nadz who would you listen to, if your parents say some thing against, what God wants us to do?

Re: First Allah, then the prophet then your parents....

Ofcourse what God has ordered.
There was situation 4 years back where mum wanted me to do something and I clearly told her ki Allah ke saamney aap mere liye jawab nahi daingi .
uskey baad she NEVER brought up the issue.

You're so dependent upon them since infancy...they play a strong role in shaping the individual you are. And most basic of all.....your interactions with them are direct and you can perceive them with your senses......you can see the impact of their actions on you. You can't see hell....and it may be awhile before you see Allah's punishment in this world. But when your parents punish you....you see it...not only the punishment....but the punisher as well. When your parents make something for you....give you something that you enjoy/that will benefit you....reward you......you see the giver/rewarder and the reward. Your parents also (not always)....but they give into your wishes sooner.....and again....you see the people that you want something from and whom you know can give it to you. You know the direct person who gave you the food, clothes, money, etc. With Allah...not only do you not see Him.....sometimes you may have to wait a while for a dua/need/desire to be fulfilled.

That's why the fundamental principles of Islam (different from the five pillars)....requires you to have blind faith in the unseen (Allah, angels, Day of Resurrection, etc). In the Quran, you'll read examples of how people asked the various prophets to show them a tangible or perceivable sign of Allah's existence and that the message preached is true.

Re: First Allah, then the prophet then your parents....

I have been in a few issues like this more recently. They don't listen to reason Parents. And guilt you into their way of thinking. Allah doesn't do this. Its up to you to feel guilty. Whether it be from your actions, lack of prayer, etc. Maybe you see the consequences later. (hell)

Like previous people said Parents are infront you. God is too, but its a see-saw of trying to get everyones approval.
