Ok, this is probably a stupid question, but I’m really not sure how to go about it.
I have finally purchased a video camera (Digital Video). It has a USB slot, a Firewire slot (4-pin) and came with a USB cable. However you can only use the USB connection to transfer stills, not the video on the tape. I do not have a Firewire port on my computer either.
So what do I need to buy, in order to be able to transfer video from the camera to my PC?
& of course a firewire cable to connection. Windows movie maker will do the rest of job or if u want 3rd party software for movie making its upto your choice.
I had a similar problem a while ago.(7/8 months) With alot of tweaking I finally managed to record video through usb but the quality was downscaled to 320xsomething. So it looked horrible. After some extra research I found out thats its best to buy a firewire cable
At the same time I did a little upgrade and bought a motherboard with integrated firewire connection. :k: Works like a charm
Use only firewire cable for high quality digital recording specially if you are burning your videos into DVD, when i had bought my camcorder i was facing the same problem then i bought this firewire cable for maximum digital recording quality, result always comes out like makhan :lajawab: but that was time consuming that’s y just few months back i’ve bought this live DVDirect machine from Sony, i recommand you this DVDirect if you burn your DVDz frequently, mast cheez hai :lajawab: you will love it
before my brother bought a cam & he bought the card also. it copies thing very fast...I think you got enough info above. however Intel's new mother board

865 or 875, comes wid a builtin firewire...
No thats something else :D those are chipsets. All the other functionality has to do with north and southbridge.... I think :D
And the 865 and 875 are outdated. Now we have915, 965 and 975 :D
I am sorry, I was talking about these but I wrote them wrong. recently I got a quotation from the market, 975 is most expensive board in the local market & why it is expensive because of its functionality.
It has more than 1 Graphics (PCI-express) slots, so we can use about 3 vga cards with 1 pc
After reading Mirza's USB Magnet post & now this Mobo models I am just wondering is KSA a decade behind in Computer Technology?
Yes, you are absolutely right. :D It is hell difficult to find new technology here brother. but check the updated reply brother, how keen you guyz to make fun of things:D
Thanks for the correction brother, infect I took a quotation about a board in which 975 chip set is used, and that board was 975 & i really dont know the remaining characters,
As you are saying, It means that 975 chipset comez in many motherboards, right, So the one I got quotation, might be D975XBX or any else model & that mainboard contains a firewire.
