Moona, I’m impressed! You know that song
:k: I LOVE that band. Yeah, I heard the guitarist perished in the incident along with the other 100 or so people. Very sad. Have seem them a couple of times in the late 80’s. I wonder though, Jack Russel (lead singer) was saying that the club ok’d the pyro-technics, however the club says otherwise. I wonder who’s to blame here. The club’s sprinkler system never worked either, so it could be that the club is trying to save their butts by saying that the pyro’s were never approved of for the show. Who really knows though. Maybe there was a misunderstanding between the two parties. Regardless, if the pyro’s were ok’d, the band’s management and/or the club owners should’ve have made sure that the any use of pyro’s were approved by the local fire marshall, which is the standard procedure for any band using pyrotechnics in an indoor venue. So it’s a pretty sticky situation. I wonder what the outcome will be. One thing for sure, I beleive that this may be the end of the band’s career.
lekin mere pyare fretster, from what i heard on the news, the rather small “room” that they were performing in was not required by authorities to be equipped with fire extnguishers, etc. and to me, that is most ironic of all. on a different note, i agree that the band’s much-declined-since-the80s career is “done!”…poor saps.

Moona, every public place is required to have fire estinguishers, and I’m sure they had them, however, as I learned, due to the size of the club, they were not required to have water sprinklers. Also, the club exceeded their capacity limit, which didnt’ help either when people rushed to get out. The band isn’t as popular as they once were, however, they have been consistently releasing new albums since their “Glory” days, so there is a market for them still, which is still commendable, given their 20 year career. Popularity doesn’t mean much to me. It’s all about the quality of the music, and their music is still great. ![]()
