I’m having a party in July. The way I want it to work is to have finger foods of all types to be on the table and ppl can have food whenever they want.
Question: should I have the savoury and sweet finger foods out at the same time?

Raw vegetables with tzaziki (sp?) or hummous
Fresh fruit drizzled with honey and cinnamon
Toasted Greek pita sprinkled with herbs of your choice and salt
Cheeses

Re: Finger Foods
this party is going to be happening around dinner time, so what sorts of savoury finger foods do you guys and gals recommend?
Re: Finger Foods
I like Sarah’s ideas there light especially if your serving dinner soon after.
Some other ideas, you can serve shrimp on Skewers, Wraps made out of pastry dough filled with vegetables, egg and cress sandwiches, bite size samosa are always a hit.
Re: Finger Foods
Slivers of meat such as rolled up smoked turkey and a green olive on a toothpick (drool!)
Cheese samosas
Tiny rice balls (boiled rice mixed with shredded cheese, chicken, mushrooms etc and spices, dipped in egg and breadcrumbs and then deep fried)
Tuna balls (tuna drained well, mixed with spices and breadcrumbs, then dipped in egg and more bread crumbs and deep fried)
Club sandwiches
Chicken nuggets
Small pieces of chicken made like chicken tikka
Belle, what are egg and cress sandwiches?
Re: Finger Foods
Sarah, it’s scrambled eggs seasoned with salt and pepper, for the bread you slice off the corners. Spread mayonnaise on each side, fill with the eggs and top off with cress and cut the sandwich in triangles. I’m not sure what cress is called in Urdu.
Re: Finger Foods
Hinna, try deviled eggs, they are quick and easy to make.
Fully boil a bunch of eggs. Then cut 'em in half from the length side and scoop out the yolk. Mix the yolk with your preference of seasoning, mustard and a bit of mayo. You can be as creative as you like with the mixture. Then put the mixture/stuffing back into the egg white. Place 'em on a platter and sprinkle them with some seasoning. If you have time you can take parsley or cilantro and put a leaf on top of each of the egg piece to make it more presentable.
Here is a goggled picture of a similar recipe.
