Re: finding rishtas for your kids
LOL, I have three daughters and a son - my hubby's jokes that we should plan to marry our son to a Pakistani or Indian, collect the jahez, then marry our daughters to Arabs - and collect the mahr - this should limit our wedding expenses. My 14 year old already has her heart set on a nikkah dress that has real rubies and emeralds sewn on! :)
in my opinion, parents will accept a non-desi dil much more readily than a son-in law because the man's culture is perceived to be the dominant one in the relationship. i think if your kids know a little bit of urdu, that would be very impressive since many abcd kids don't even know urdu. plus anyone can become super muslim in a few months, but knowing a language suggests longer immersion in the culture.
but don't worry too much, who knows, maybe they will find a nice 'gori' like yourself :)
