Has anyone seen this movie yet? Saw it last night, and I thought it was very good. I was a little unsure of how interesting the story would be, but it was quite absorbing and moving. After about an hour I walked out of Alexander, walked into Finding Neverland just as it started, and was able to finish watching it in time to walk back into Alexander to catch the last 5 minutes. Yeah, Alexander was that long, and bad.
The movie was very touching, and Johnny Depp delivers a great performance. Did he pull off that Welsch accent…WOW though I’m not sure he’s even going to be nominated this year. He has zero chance of winning. This year is packed in the best actor department. Jamie Foxx is a lock. Liam Neeson is a lock. And now, with the early raving reviews of Martin Scorsese’s The Aviator coming in, Leonardo DiCaprio is a lock. People are saying that Leo has a real shot of taking it from Foxx. He looks mesmerizing in the new trailer and every single review has praised him for paragraphs. Javier Bardem is almost a lock. I predict that Depp may just slide in there.
I would place this film in my top seven films of the year so far, along with Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Maria Full Of Grace, Kill Bill Vol. 2, The AMAZING Spiderman, Garden State and Sideways.
Thoughts? I give it 4 out of 5. Go see it.
