Comedy, Kids/Family and Animation
1 hr. 41 min. The Academy Award®-winning creators of TOY STORY, A BUG’S LIFE, and MONSTERS, INC. dive into a whole new world with this underwater adventure. The film follows the comedic and eventful journeys of two fish - Marlin and his son Nemo - who become separated in the Great Barrier Reef when Nemo is unexpectedly taken far from home and thrust into a fish tank in a dentist’s office overlooking Sydney harbor. Buoyed by the companionship of a friendly-but-forgetful fish named Dory, the overly cautious father embarks on a dangerous trek and finds himself the unlikely hero of an epic journey to rescue his son - who hatches a few daring plans of his own to return safely home.
MPAA Rating: G for General Audiences.
It looked promising in the trailers and I expected it to be good, but not Shrek-good! Being a Disney production it tackles human issues in animal form yadda yadda, and it’s perfectly watchable for an older audience as well.
The highlight of the movie is definitely the voice cast. Geoffrey Rush as Nigel and Willem Dafoe as the tiger-fish - absolutely brilliant!! Brad Garret as the bassy Bloat is a good choice too. They couldn’t have picked a more fitting cast to voice out the characters.
If there’s a complain I had with Pixar it’d be some of the sequences going by a bit too fast to enjoy and marvel at the great pixel work they’ve done. And even though the summer’s just started, this is already a Top 10 movie of the year for me.
Definitely watch it! :k:
I’ll never look at a Fillet-O-Fish the same way again!
(for at least a week).

Hmm.. I think Disney is only distributing it. This and the four before it (TS I&II, Bugs Life and Monsters, Inc) were through and through Pixar movies. They share 50-50. Infact, since Disney's own animated movies aren't doing too well, but Pixar is churning out a hit after another, so rumours are Pixar is gonna re-negotiate the contract with Disney and get a larger piece of the pie in future movies.
Coming back to "Nemo", it is gonna be a block-buster. All the reviews I have read for this one, make it an undoubtful winner. Pixar has done it again, it seems.
a Nike shoe produced at Wu-Tang factory in Shanghai will still be accredited as a Nike shoe - as an 'american' product.
But you're right, it is the folks at Pixar that are behind all the creative genius supplied to Disney on a contract basis. And only now are they flexing their proprietary muscles after such success with the movies you just mentioned. Kinda like how DreamWorks SKG took off.
Anyone who is interested in this stuff (Pixar and Disney relationship) should check this one out: Click here. Ofcourse its not part of the main discussion on the movie itself.
^^ The movie has a lot of colorful scenes inside the ocean (the whole movie is practically inside the ocean), so those who have snorkled in some nice location, can identify the amazing beauty of life underwater.

Yup ... if you have ever swam under the sea with gorgeous, colourful tropical fishies all around you ... with beautiful coral reefs and white sand underneath you .... then you will be able to identify with the movie.
Saw the movie on Monday with the whole family. It has amazing graphics.... and the character of Dory (voice of Ellen Degeneres) is so funny. This is a must-see movie for all those who have enjoyed Shrek, Monsters, Inc and other such animation movies. I think, in graphic terms, the movie is superior to anything we have seen before.
All the Aussies will enjoy the character of 150-yr old turtle. He was "so cool, like totally, dude!"
The movie rocked… may be not as good as Ice age. but when it comes to graphics, it beats everything hands down. the character of dory and the 150 year old turtle is funny as hell. definately a Hit! :k:
not as good as Monster'sInc but yeah was ok, the best reason for watching the movie can safelybe said was the charcter Torrie who forgot stuff
man was she hillarious or what other that that wasnt as good as expected
Well, after being lazy & silly for two weeks, I had to surrendered myself against my lil cousin and went to see the movie. Nemo tells a tale about facing the deepest fears, animated with luminous beauty and wit. Nemo, not only does the movie tell a sweet and satisfying tale, but it also sets astonishing new standards for computer-generated animation.
Adventures are pretty darn scary but frights are always followed by comfort, and every bit of the movie is wrapped up in truly funny humor. I must agree with all of you about 150-year old Aussie Turtle dude. Spot on! He was hilarious!
Every summer needs, at least, one can't-miss family film; it looks like this summer, Nemo is it.
