So its not the exercise that matters , its the ability to do it consistantly and continuously that matters and for that one needs motivation …
how do you keep yourself motivated ? specially when you are doing it on your own ..

Re: Finding my motivation ..
find an activity that u can enjoy like swimming or skating n do it as long as u enjoy then switch to something else like belly dancing or tennis. keep switching b/w them to keep things going.
chk around if u can find any fitness group or group of outgoing, active ladies who gladly accompany u.
Re: Finding my motivation ..
A nice toned body should be your biggest motivation. :)
Need I say more?
Only way I can work out is while watching TV... try and see if that works for you.
Re: Finding my motivation ..
it's really hard to stay motivated especially for a long time i don't mind working out all the time my main problem is my food intake.. i have a sweet tooth and all i can think about is chocolate but you have to make a decision on what you want more a healthier you or the 2 mins of your sweet tooth satisfaction.. plus i have 3 huge suit cases filled of suits that i no longer fit into.. so i guess it's time they start fitting again :ASA:

Re: Finding my motivation ..
Halloween and the fact that my boss kept a whole bag of tempting chocolates behind my desk didn't help in keeping the extra pounds off. I crumbled in front of chocolate sahab and now i've gained those darn 5 pounds I worked so hard to lose. It's a back and forth battle between me and my temptations. We're human we will make mistakes but i'm going to get myself on that elliptical and use the new exercise songs list to keep myself motivated to lose the weight I gained. As long as you keep it exciting so you look forward to working out like dance the pounds off one week, get a whole new list of dance songs on your ipod so exercising on the treadmill doesn't feel boring, trampoline....wish i could get one of those....try a totally different fun way to keep the pounds off every couple of weeks so you feel motivated and it isn't humdrum for you.
a couple weekends ago I did 2 hours of ethnic dance with a whole group of people and during those weeks, I got all dressed up in my new lengha and looked stellar for myself. It was a whole different kind of exercise and I lost so many pounds and completely enjoyed myself too. It wasn't the routine elliptical workout so I don't get bored. I stay active and at the weight I want to be. What matters is that when I look in that mirror I love the figure, body I see myself in.
Today is a low day in terms of mood and i'm feeling sad so it's going to be a challenge getting my butt on that exercise machine.

The belief that once you get in the habit of working out, that aside from looking better (having a more healthy looking figure), you will be "feeling" better as well i.e. physically, mentally and psychologically. For example: Less or no body pain, feeling more flexible, easy breathing and clear-headedness.
Also, if one goes to a fitness center, depending on the program that you subscribe for, your fitness trainer can inform you of your current weight, your ideal weight and what you need to do to get there. You can also receive nutrition-based appointments. Sometimes if one stops working out, they can gain all those pounds back. But if you leave and continue to "eat right", you can still maintain great weight and/or even lose several more pounds. So these gym programs can also motivate a person through helpful advice.
