I obviously was talking about similarities not the differences. Among all the parties in Pakistan MQM was (and to an extent even today) common mens party dealing with common issues which broke in to castle of established giant parties. Both are city based party having educated audience working to resolve issues. But obviously MQM today is not the same MQM which was founded decades ago.

yes MQM central leadership has been comprised of middle class folks for a very long time and unlike PPP and PMLN, we have not seen relatives flooding MQM or taking key posts in the govt but…

the fact of the matter is that MQM’s ideological DNA was based on ethnic separation…was 100% mohajar-focused driven by violence against other ethnic groups (whatever the rational was) … that ideology drove the party for many many years and while MQM tried to make itself more diversified, less mohajar focused and less violent as time passed, its past behavior and ideological DNA never allowed it to become a clean political party

AAP on the other hand has a very different ideological foundation…very very different.
