wats the point if its not wearable for common ppl?why can't they just design modest clothing even if its fusion or totally western influenced.
Whats so special about these? The trouser suits look like any other trouser suits with some frill on it…

@ mabrook - i think j ands are quite wearable - actually own their clothes, they are great - umar sayeeds might be for a niche market - and the valentine wonders are quite hot i think ...
... i guess whats special is seeing pakistan produce such clothes, cause we hardly ever get pret here - and this good :)

actually i saw the tee-jays one again n yes those mini dresses can b worn with jeans n the jannat sadaff ones r nice n sume of valentine collection r gud too but may b my first glance n impression was this body showing styles.i just am very against them.our models n dresses should strictly represent our culture n clothes worn by masses only.if sume like to wear westernized or exposing clothes they can always get them from abroad.

u have no idea how far some designers have gone! taubah... especially for print.. its insane! and all t sell some clothes, and make some money .. crazy yaar!

haha i LOVE the TeeJays outfits! I have pics of my aunts from the 80's when they were teens...they have similar outfits on, the same look...right down to the big dark sunglasses, the short poufy curly hair and pointy heels, with no sign of dupatta anywhere.

absolutely - it is however slightly becoming acceptable even in the tighter circles to accpet the no dupp look that is if the shirts are billowing and loose ... :)

yeaap...they're doing a decent job. though i think mainstream pakistanis are still quite far away from embracing and appreciating fashion as an expression of individuality...they're still stuck on bags with logos all over them and insisting on wearing only whats 'in'.

i totally agree with you it shall take time - 90 percent if not more dont understand anything about fashion in pakistan.
but theres always a first time to everything -
the other trend that is very disturbing is camping and self promotion, seems like the designer make the fashion acceptable rather than the fashion making a designer.
but i think websites like stylestripped.com are smack on target, in telling the bare truth about the designers, when theyre good - say theyre good, when they copy it should be clear to all!
but whatever is happening is happening to bring about a positive change :)

the clothes are awful! i wouldnt buy any of them nor are they modest to wear in pakistan! (well except if you are really bold and dont mind the stares from the pervy men!)
the karachi/ lahore fashion is so nice! why not show pics of those? those kameez's with lots of thick ribbons across etc.
