I was pleasantly surprised to see a Maulana, other than KZ and Ghamidi, discussing this issue. The problem with Sir KZ and Ghamidi is that they unfortunately don’t have mass appeal since they are considered too bourgeois by our masses. The Maulana featured in this discussion uses simple Urdu and has an aggressive style, both traits that work with our people:
He was also featured in a discussion in Dawn News also in Urdu.
Finally a sane maulvi. Refreshing to see a desi maulana talking sense. Unfortunately maulanas like these are not invited to TV channels and they keep inviting people who are portraying a wrong image of this beautiful peace-loving religion of ours.
I must say that the response of even some educated Pakistanis, glorifying a killer, has been most disappointing. I assume that people who go on various online forums can atleast read and write. The lawyers who garlanded Qadri were presumably atleast graduates. This shows that it is not just education that is important but the way your parents have brought you up and taught you islam, the people you mix with in life that ultimately influences how you view these things. On some other forums (not paklinks) there was even a weak attempt by some people to portray Qadri as a hero by mentioning that he was a keen naatkhwan
Now this Qadri dude might be good at reciting naat (good for him) but how does any of that - him being aashiq-e-rasool PBUH and a good naatkhwan etc. - condone his grave crime of killing someone. Does that give him a licence to kill anyone? He is a qaatil, a murderer, a killer.....period. and people should see him for what he is
Even Islam (as the maulana rightly mentioned) says** 'killing one human-being is akin to killing the entire humanity'.** note there is no mention of the word muslim here, just humans of any faith...i.e. Humanity first, then Religion
But ours is such a brainwashed, intolerant, backward and narrow-minded society that mention words such as ishq-e-Rasool PBUH etc. and everyone gets all emotional and defensive. Anchors and Politicians who should be taking a stand against an obvious crime & jihalat are shamelessly silent which is only creating disarray and confusion in public
i cannot watch youtube at office, can someone mention the name of maulana who's in this video? and also summarize what he's saying? post the transcript if there is any
