Phew!!!!! That was close. Credit to Dhoni for making a match out of it. Credit to Pakistan for holding their nerves at the end.
well said....but I suppose 300+ score gives you enough of a cushion even if your bowling attack is not at full strength.

Re: Final: India v Pakistan at Dhaka (SBNS) - Jun 14, 2008
yuppy... jeet gaye :D
From cricinfo:
Gul: "I learnt a lot from IPL. There was still some wayward bowling today but I just kept trying to improve. We had planned that if we bat first out top six batsmen should bat 50 overs. That's how we played today. In the bowling, we wanted to bowl close to the body at their in-form batsmen Gambhir and Sehwag. It's a big victory, a final and that against India. It was a do or die battle for us."

DAMN!!
i missed being on GS today … ![]()
For the record:
Pakistan were 75/1 after 20 overs, They scored another 240 runs in the next 30 overs at 8 RPO, so India's bowling fell apart after a good tight start
Re: Final: India v Pakistan at Dhaka (SBNS) - Jun 14, 2008
Congratulations PAK on splendid victory!

Plus Nadir Shah
[QUOTE]
Shahid Afridi's delivery beat Yuvraj Singh's attempted sweep and struck him low on the pad in front of the stumps. He began the appeal confidently and was incredulous when he realised Nadir Shah's finger wasn't going up. That ball may have pitched outside leg but it was a tight call. A couple of deliveries later, Yusuf Pathan was struck on the pad as he pushed forward; once again Afridi roared an appeal and looked dumbfounded as Shah gave it as runs. In his next over, Afridi hit Suresh Raina plumb in front after he missed an attempted sweep. This time the ball had pitched in line but Shah remained unmoved.

Re: Final: India v Pakistan at Dhaka (SBNS) - Jun 14, 2008
You know a sign of the quality of India's batting is that even at 10 and 12 RPO, we all considered them well in the game.
they shud be happy cuz india lost … or cuz pakistan won ?? ![]()
