Filtering threads

Is there any way to filter some threads to not appear in my “What’s new?” section. They get updated at the speed of light and always appear there & I’m really not interested in them. Can they be hidden/filtered somehow?

Some of cafe threads that are way too fast paced and just don't move from the "what's new" .. i don't want them to be appearing all the time. Any solution?

Sorry daffy, unless there is some clever way of doing that, I am not aware of any direct method
