Does any one have this channel at home
If yes then u know why im laughing…
For those who dont know or never heard of the channel… it’s a channel dedicated to the paki film industry, which means 24/7 of punjabi flims, heros in track suits, heroines in short baby frocks and bullets slower than the hero , dances in which only the back is shaking and scary makeup
Some flims, ofcourse, are good but most of them are not more than an alternative to cartoon network!
Well its a good idea indeed...if our movies were the type that people should watch...
Rukhsana Noor is really weird. I would think that she, as a woman, shouldn't be promoting stupid pakistani films where a female is not the least bit respected. If I were her, I'd rather be promoting Syed Noor's own films (not so bad relatively speaking, of course) on the major channels like Geo, etc, instead of opening up another channel.
Maybe they want this channel to showcase the work of the students from this "Academy" later down the line?
Anyhoo - at least the infrastructure is set up. You might never know - a lot of things have gone from cheap to good when the right person takes over.
You’re from the same crowd where they have a problem with"vulgar" and “indecent” dancing [as in the Ishq video] but when it’s done under limits they still rile it…that really sucks now…
scary make up – dude for the most part of the last 50 yrs they were fine. In the 80s it was horrendous the world over, even [and I’m making a huge assumption here] in your fave Bolywood. 90s came over with some films which heavily stressed on this “make up” thing. They did it really well.
I’m amused you didn’t mention the much bashed “camera” factor.
I agree that some films are bad – that is, for us: They DO agree with the rural population’s sensibilities, of which you and I are not a part of.
Because people belonging to your category choose to diss and complain about films, rather than going to the theatres and paying to watch the decent stuff which comes out, the film makers have chosen to cater to the rural crowd which obviously has no taste. Hence the downfall. Rather than talking in terms of positives [yes, they are there] and encouraging the movie guys, we choose to diss them all - under one category!
^^ Easy to blame Zia and the rest. I for one, am not ready to buy this idea that over a span of 8 yrs all the film makers deserted their field. If they did, they shouldn't have given up so easily. I mean show some dedication to your profession yaar - these idiots were actually non-commited individuals who are in the habit of blaming the govt -- and possibly suffering from depression too, that there are no adequate rewards for film making. I mean come on, in the neighbouring country, film makers and the showbiz people really have to struggle dammit. And I mean STRUGGLE. While we only complain :) -- "It's the government dammit!"
The government can not make good scripts, get you good actors, and force you to make decent films. Sorry. That's the individuals' responsibility, and they have to take care of these things.
