hmmm kill goat, give a big chunk of it to lion..save a big chunk, roast some for yourself using the hay to start a bonfire. when the lion is so full that it cant eat anything put it in the boat, take the remainign meat as something to give to leo incase he gets hungry while u are rowing.
keep a large pile of hay in between yourself and the lion in case he wants to attack u, u can burn it to keep him on the other side. save the effort of rowing back and forth.
if u eally dont want to do that....tie haystack behind your ship, put the lion on it. tie the lion to it, put goat in the boat and row over.

Now why on earth would a man want to be in the same boat as a lion? He's dead meat. In fact X2's idea makes more sense, keep that bugger full. Else he might be asking his friends - hey how do you cross the river when you have a dead man, half a goat and a boat!
