fighting your 'shaitan'/temptations after Umrah/Hajj

salaam dosto
hope you guys are doing well.

i just returned from Umrah and a visit to India. alHamdolillah, Umrah went well.

i wanna change but i find it very difficult to fight my inner shaitan/temptations. i know i have to work hard to overcome him/it.

what do you think one must try to do to stay away from temptations [not necessarily the Haraam acts…i’m talking about how to overcome the little shortcomings in life that make you less of a momin.]

your insights will be appreciated. thanks.

Walaikumussalam Warahamtullahi wabarakatuhu..
i pray that Allah accept your umrah with all amaal n ebadat Ameen may Allah grant you success in what you desire Ameen...

first you should be in company of those who are busy in Allah's work...obviously company matters...may Allah protect us from bed company n grant us good company...
recite quran daily with translation n bit tafseer as well..at least 10ayat daily...
third...try to learn about deen in ur free time...or learn by heart quran surah in ur free time...
remember death and it keeps no calender ..its Alhamdulilah keep you away from minor sin aswell..may Allah protect us Ameen...
after every shortcoming ask forgiveness without delaying and do good deed after that like toba nafal sadqa etc...
Learn or listen about seerah...it will inshaAllah sooth you n provoke you...
last i believe we are blessed with health, young age, time, n offcourse life Alhamdulilah..think about those who have been passed away no chance to return n those are suffering with life threatening disease..may Allah cure all sufferers Ameen..
Keep concentrate on this sentence ask daily bases in salah..."ihdinas siratal mustaqeem"

reminder for me first and foremost and for all of us!!!

may Allah grant alll of us taqwa and forgive all our sin ameen

Re: fighting your 'shaitan'/temptations after Umrah/Hajj

May Allah (s.w.t) accept you ibadah and reward you.
I am with Tahurra on his advice.

another important thing you could do is, try to get inspired from some religious personalities which would help you get motivation for learning and following deen.
Getting inspiration may not be mandatory in Islam but is important these days because we are being bombarded with tempting/persuading content by media. And dont think that media is in action only when you watch tv, its everywhere now.
and, by getting inspired form some scholars doesnt mean you follow them blindly. For exmaple, I use to listen tafseer/translation of Quran by Dr. Israr but, at the same time disagree with his wahdatul wajood stance.

Re: fighting your 'shaitan'/temptations after Umrah/Hajj

Step one: Limit your social interactions with non-mehram women as much as possible.
