[font=Courier New]According to Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and PML President Chaudhary Shujat Hussain the differences between Sindh Chief Minister Arbab Rahim and sacked Minister Imtiz Shaikh will soon be resolved. What are these differences? The biggest one according to Arbab Rahim, Imtiza Shaikh pocketed a big plot situated behind Bundo Khan Kabab on main M.A. Jinnah Road Karachi. Plot is at a prime place in heart of city worth billions in market. Shaikh has however allotted it on nominal price in the name of his servant. All these so called differences the two are on the issue of race for “Haze-min-fazla-e Rabi”. According to Ch. Shujat these will be resolved which means these will be settled on the principle of N.A.B’s Bargain Plea. Both will be advised to close their eyes from “hazi-min-fazle-rabi” of each other. This system of ‘Resolving’ is not new in our country. It is wrong to say N.A.B introduced this system of Plea Bargain. This in one form or the other is existing since decades. This practice remains whether it is democracy or military rule. Take the example few years back a big newspaper of Karachi was accused of evading huge taxes. Offices were raided jointly by civil and army team. It appeared matter would take serious turn and go to special courts. But it was settled namely ‘Resolved’ in such a way that later never ever anything about it was heard. It proved either there was no tax evasion and the authorities wanted to pressurize the newspaper. If there was real tax evasion then that matter of national exchequer was settled without recovery of this evaded tax by compromise which could only be that the newspaper concerned changed its tune. Difference between Rahim and Imtiaz would be settled but no body would ever hear about that plot namely at what cost it was sold, what is market price, was it sold to servant, why it was not auctioned, what was the source of income of that servant having powers to buy this plot.
