I'm amused by the title of this thread. It is a 'must see' but we must also observe 'caution'.

With due respect Islam does not permit stoning to death just based on confession. Islam needs 4 eye witnesses for implementing ultimate Islamic punishment for any crime .

I have utmost disgust for this leach of a guy but I wanted to clarify what you are saying.

I know there are some ahadees from which Ulema a Islam have taken that stance of stoning to death of married rapists and adulators that too based on self confession. But Quran has sanctioned very clear cut penalties for these kind of crimes , stonning to death in not one of them.

See let me in explain the whole phenomenon in a few words. In the 70s, the media and arts were progressing nicely, and had quality and standards which evolved. Zia came and put a tight check on everything, during his Islamicization campaign. Obviously, with those restrictions, some people still managed to bring out art in its best form. All our best dramas pretty much came out during that time, be it Tanhayaan or Dhoop Kinarey, even with low budgets. Then came the 90s where some of these restrictions were lifted, but standards of conservatism were still met and kept in check. Some rebels from the 80s dominated the airwaves but still did so with a positive message for the youth, sometimes in Iqbal's words, or sometimes Bulley Shah. Then came the time of Musharraf when media was given a free hand. On a journalistic angle, that was a great move but artistic media really found it hard to swalllow this newly found independence. All our dramas and plays found the competition nerve wrecking, most of them started shooting outside of Pakistan and concentrated on glamor rather than plot. No wonder the 80s old fashioned low budget artistic dramas quickly vanished. Then came people like Waqar who realized that sex sells on TV, a western phenomenon which a pajamachaap like him couldnt fully comprehend. He has hijabi women kissing snakes for crying out loud. This degenerate culture where model school pajamachaap chichcorey kids who can barely speak English properly think they act cool by imitating gangster signs and drinking Heiniken which was readily available by that time unlike in the past.
