Fifty glorious years for P.T.V

Re: Fifty glorious years for P.T.V

When ‘Behad’ went on air, many people pointed out it to be a copy of 1980s long play ‘GuRiya’ written by Haseena Moin and directed by Shireen Khan. It said to won best script award in Tokyo.

Her play Gurya which was directed by Shirin Khan with cast members Manzoor Qureshi, Shahla Ahmad Bina of Uncle Urfi, Azra Sherwani and Raju Jamil, won an award at the Global TV Plays Festival in Tokyo for best script and direction.

Re: Fifty glorious years for P.T.V

yeah, I heard that too. I haven't been able to find Guria on youtube or dvd. Do you know if Haseena Moin adapted it from a short story or was it an original script?

Re: Fifty glorious years for P.T.V

I kinda remember to read that it was an adaptation. remember the story of Behad and when it was being written in 1980 in Pakistan, it might be adaption as this story belonged to west (at least it was not prevalent in 1980s Pakistan). Yes, that drama GuRiya is not available anywhere and its just social media/ wikipedia that mentions it to be same story as 'behad'.

Re: Fifty glorious years for P.T.V

It seems P.T.V was doing much better than D.D..

Re: Fifty glorious years for P.T.V

Never seen Pakistanis asking for DD's programs (Tapes / DVDs), except for Gulzar's Ghalib.

Re: Fifty glorious years for P.T.V

I see.

Re: Fifty glorious years for P.T.V

You know one thing?P.T.V had had nationwide coverage even in 1970's...

This one incites nostalgia…

Doordarshan.

Re: Fifty glorious years for P.T.V

^^ This thread is about PTV not DD. Nobody in Pakistan cares about DD crap. Kahan PTV aur kahan bakwaas indian tv. NO COMPARISON.

Re: Fifty glorious years for P.T.V

^ Oho.

Re: Fifty glorious years for P.T.V

She doesn't like Indians. You can open a positive thread but she won't see that. Instead she will tell you what you can post on your own thread. Thankfully many are not like that.

Anyway I have to say i am impressed by your threads posting positive topics on Pakistani issues. You have posted some gems in cricket (like the one on Pakistanis making record) and general forum as well as on Pakistani affairs forum. Even if few people reply i am sure many read and appreciate to read such news.

Great work. Our philosophy should always be that we think and post positive. If other people dislike or hate for whatever reason that is their burden to bear.

Re: Fifty glorious years for P.T.V

It came up in conversation. No need to get worked up over one Indian word mentioned on here. Cross talk happens on this forum as well as on bollywood forum.
Somewhere you mentioned that no Indian celebrity praises Pakistani showbiz. Think it was on the Anil Kapoor thread. Tht is obviously not true-Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Om Puri, Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor and Siddharth among many others have praised Pakistani dramas and stage shows.

Re: Fifty glorious years for P.T.V

^ Welcome, back.

Re: Fifty glorious years for P.T.V

Thanks for the welcome TS :) I've seen many Pakistani dramas in my absence. Have you seen agar tum na hote and susraal mera?

Re: Fifty glorious years for P.T.V

You are welcome.
Glad you are still enjoying.
I may have seen the first but don't remember now and have not heard of the second. The title may have been changed a little.
Maybe @Microbian does.

No I haven’t :nahi:

Re: Fifty glorious years for P.T.V

I am disappointed. :nahi: You are the encyclopedia of Pakistani drama.

Re: Fifty glorious years for P.T.V

I am also enjoying Jaago Pakistan jaago. They have lot of great programs where you can learn things.
My parents are enjoying both serials. I think they are very recent. Here is some information about them.
