Can the residents of Saudi tell me how I can watch the ongoing fifa world cup over there? Will it be available for free on any local television station or will I have to purchase a receiver and subscribe to some smart card service?

Over here in Dubai the World Cup is not shown on Free TV. You need to buy a separate subscription. I am assuming that the same is true for Riyadh, because TV packages are quite similar across the Middle East region.

you can watch it free in PMPYD in Dammam.I dont know abt other places.
