Bano Qudsia (famous Pakistani writer) talked lot of this issue in her books. As per her theory, there are men who try to find qualities their mothers have, in women they meet afterward in their life. Most of us have heard people saying 'ye kha kar Maa ke hath ka za'iqa yaad aa gaya'. I think its a complement if used in this way, as mother is the first woman in a man's life to whom he can relate many things.

LOL. Have you considered the possibility that maybe he thought there was a physical resemblance between you and his mom prior to your engagement and he is just now telling you this? If this is the case and he still decided to marry you as opposed to freaking out and turning you down, wouldn't that then mean that he likes this quality about you and that you should take it as a compliment?
The answer to your question can be found in the way he treats you. Has he been avoiding you? Does he usually tell you that you're like his mom when he's annoyed with you? If that's the case I'd be alarmed. But if things are going well between you two, why work yourself up over this?
And you'll find that people can have certain features in common like the overall shape of their face. But unless you're identical twins, you won't be exactly the same. And with the passage of time, people age differently and you've your own unique style as well. If he's got a strong relationship with his mom and admires certain traits in her which he sees in you, take it as an honor/ compliment.
