ISLAMABAD – An official says gunmen are firing inside a federal building in Pakistan’s eastern city of Lahore.
Chaudhry Mansoor of the Federal Investigation Agency says he can hear the shots in the facility Thursday morning.
The FIA is the premier civil federal law enforcement agency. It investigates matters relating to immigration and terrorism.
Another employee, Mohammad Riaz, told The Associated Press over the phone that he can see two people who have been shot, but does not know who they are.
Pakistan has experienced a wave of attacks in the past two weeks that have killed scores. A suicide attack Thursday morning in the northwest killed eight people at a police station.

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — Police say a suicide bomber rammed his explosives-laden vehicle into a police station in northwest Pakistan, killing six people in the blast.
Police official Habib Khan says police and civilians were among the dead Thursday in Kohat district, an area close to the militant-riddled tribal regions. Some 20 people were wounded.
Pakistan has suffered a string of suicide attacks in the past two weeks that have killed more than 100 people.
The Taliban have claimed responsibility for most of the assaults and warned of more if the army proceeds with an offensive in their main stronghold in South Waziristan tribal region.
