I loved my stay in Las Vegas. Maybe it was the company I had or maybe it was millennium celebrations…I enjoyed my vacation in the city of sin. There are not a lot of places in this world where I would want to go again but Las Vegas is surely one of those cities where I wouldn’t mind going again…of course with lots of money in my pocket and Angelina Joli in my arm.
I love Vegas. It has such a fun atomosphere, and you don't even need to gamble to enjoy yourself. Just going down "the strip", into every single casino/hotel and seeing all of the architecture is entertaining by itself (at least for me :D ). I definitely plan to go again one day inshallah.

Hey man these are great pictures. My fav casions there are Luxor, Bellagio, Alladin and Mandalay Bay. Did you see the dancing fountains outside Bellagio and belly dancers at the newly revamped Alladin. Also the buffet menu at Aladin is one of the best I ever had.

The fountains outside the Bellagio are indeed something special.
Buffet at Aladin was good; however, if you have not done before try the buffet at 'Bellagio' and 'Paris' - absolutely superb.
With regards to the casinos, I found MGM Grand had the best atmosphere. New York, New York was a big let down - just does not live up to the hype.
I'm going to Vegas Thanksgiving week with my sister. I'll be there for 6 days. Where do I start and what else is there to see. I'd like to see the Grand Canyon also if possible, I've heard it's a few hours drive away?
So bring on the suggestions guppies. Thanks :)

I've been to the Grand Canyon twice and it never ceases to amaze me.
The last time we went, it turned out to be a 4-5 hour drive if I remember correctly. We drove from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon to Vegas. The drive is nice, quite scenic. I'm a fan of desert and mountains so I loved it. Make sure you see the Canyon during sunset .... totally different than during the day or on a cloudy day.
If you are going down to the Grand Canyon, you might as well go down to Sedona which is a few hours from the Grand Canyon. It's soooo beautiful.
I'll definitely look up Sedona, but what exactly is it all about?
I was going to do a day trip from Las Vegas to GC coz I like nature/ scenic drives too, and I definitely want to do the helicopter tour of the GC. I think I'm going for the package that is a bus tour from LV to GC, it includes Lake Mead and Hoover Dam, and a flightseeing tour of the GC. I hope we get to see the GC at sunset, that must be an awesome view.
I would have loved to go whitewater rafting, but that's not available after September. Anything else we can do in the area in this season for a spot of adventure? I saw some overnite packages for the GC area, but am not sure if it's worth it.
We're staying with friends upon their insistence, but just for information, can you recommend a couple of good hotels there? Is it a good idea to book these tours online, or should I wait til I get there and check out the local tourist stops?
Sedona is mostly famous for it’s scenery. Honestly, it is breathtaking … huge red mountains, red sand … plus, some of the mountains have natural purple parts embedded into the mountains. I don’t think you would need more than a day there … you can go horseback riding, hiking, etc. … basically, anything outdoors.
Make sure you actually go into the Canyons like Britney Spears does in her video for “I’m Not a Girl”.
Where do your friends live? Vegas? The major and fancy hotels are quite decently priced in Vegas … I’m sure you can get any one of them. Don’t know about online booking though.
