So i had a scan yesterday at 30 weeks and 4 days. and right after that i had a doctors appointment. When i was leaving the office my doctor recieved the report for my ultrasound, she checked it casually standing in her office door and she was like weight 3 pounds, this good, that good, baby’s head seems a bit big but its okkay. So at that time i didnt bother about it much as i was leaving and next patient was waiting for her turn but now i am so worried. Does this mean that there are some issues? I searched on net and found out that it may be just that the baby has a big head or it might indicate mental retardation or possiblity of hydrocephalus and i am really freaking out. My 20th week scan showed everything was right on track, now everything else is on track and normal but head is big. it is so terrifying. i couldnt sleep all night , so i called doctors office to ask if it means anything bad and the receptionist laughed saying it just means you will have a hard time in labor popping out the baby. That should have reassured me but i am getting paranoid about it (thankfully i can blame it on my pregnancy hormones). So all the GS doctors does HC matters at 31 weeks? and should be considered as an indicator os something wrong at this point in pregnancy? or is it just that the baby has a big head?

If it was something serious, the doctor would've said something. You can ask the doctor that you mentioned about my baby's head being big, is that a concern... She'll tell you what that means. When I was pregnant, doctors would say oh that and that BUT don't worry. I would ask just to be sure if it is something worry about. You can also tell her what you read on Internet and you just wanted to be sure. Most doctors are more than happy to address your concern.

Hun im not a doc or anything im pregnant myself but if it was a cause for concern im sure your doctor would have spoken to you regarding this, its probably normal and your just being paranoid but i think maybe you should see your doctor to discuss this matter just so u can put your mind at ease.

listen to your doc.. none of us here know the situation and your medical history as much as your doc.. if it was a concern she would have brought it up.. so no worries!
and like nurse said, probably all it means is you will have hard time pushing and that pretyy much it!

As others said ,if it was something serious the doctor would have addressed the issue and not just casually informed you.No one will be able to tell you anything here as no one knows the specifics.Inshallah everything will be fine.Another suggestion will be to try to stay away from google.When I was expecting I used to google every little thing and freak myself out every time..:(
If you still have concerns bring it up with your ob.He/she will be the best person to talk to.Another thing,sometimes a slightly bigger head runs in the family genes (not abnormally big,but slightly big).One of my husband's brothers and few of my husband's nephews have a slightly bigger head than the rest of the kids.They are perfectly normal.

I found google to be my worst friend during my pregnancy. I would read random horror stories and freak. Its normall to be concerned but I'm sure if it was serious your doctor would have mentioned it.

Thank you so much for all the assurances and reassurances. I agree that google is the worst friend but i cant help it, i am so paranoid about little things in this pregnancy :( i just want to get over with it now.

I actually found google to be very informative during my pregnancy. It was my first and had some complications with baby's development. I googled the condition, found the top doctors that deal with such babies and every single condition associated with it. I made a list of questions for the doctor and asked them each time I went. I felt no shame in asking. My doctors were very nice. They knew I was worried. Its okay to google I think but do ask your doctors too. Tell them that you read something online and wanted to be sure. I promise you, if they think there is something wrong, they will tell you, otherwise I really don't think there is any harm in knowing more about your pregnancy.

I knew someone whose baby's head was big during pregnancy that kid was 7-8 years old when I last saw him and he was perfectly fine. don't worry if the dr told you not to worry then there isn't anything to worry insha allah !

relax!!i had the same problem...on every ultrasound my baby's head was bigger...n it was!....i only had to push hard...Alhumdulillah he's healthy no other issues....so dont worry :)
