Fertility

I know a person who is 30-31 and she is trying to get pregnant.
Everything seems to be normal, excpet the fact that she is a tiny bit overweight and has high blood pressure.

Apparently this is really interrupting her getting pregnant.
And she is getting very frusterated with it.
Can anyone please shed some light on the relationship between blood pressure and getting pregnant?

Also, please ref to any sites that may help

I’m not too sure, but everything and everyone is saying that losing weight is the best way to get pregnant. Who knows

well she has tried that and it didnt work.
and what about the people who are obese they have kids..

Muniya these things are very specific to teh person..like you said obese people have kids and so do people with blood pressure and for that matter even a combination of both...but maybe she has cyctic ovaries?

^^ not that I know of..
umm maybe we can help her by rec. a really good site with information on the matter/

It could literally be anything - ovarian cysts, PCOS, endometreosis. It could be so many things.

From my understanding, you have to be trying for 2 years before the docs take an interest.

Inshallah - hope it works out soon.

What about women who do not ovulate? I don't know what sort of treatment they get but some women do not ovulate or have blockage in their fallopian tubes.

maybe there's something wrong with the guy (eg. low sperm count)....not getting pregnant doenst automatically mean there is a problem with the female - even though most desis (especially those old auntis that keep pissing me off all the time...) think that the girl "should go and see a doctor...blah blah blah".....

^^ i agree.. y is everyone assuming that its only a girl's problem only?!?!? .. mayb its sumthing to do with her hubby.. hav they got his Semen Analysis done?!?!? ... that helps a lot in understanding the problem.. and if they r sure about her... then there r some drugs available to induce ovulation.. but it all needs a good gyn/abs prescription ... so its better if she consults a good physician and got her checkup done... mayb there is simply nuthing wrong with her and its only a matter of time.. sometimes miracles do happen and i believe in them more then anything ... :-)

Hello, Your friend really should see a reproductive endocrinologist. They will do some tests on both her and her husband. Even if they find a problem with her, they still test the husband to make sure that everything is ok there. There are so many things that can prevent pregnancy from happening that sometimes I wonder how the population growth is so high!

I worked for a lady doc who specializes in fertility and pathology of miscarriages. She is wonderful and has a website that explains mostly about miscarriage and problems in pregnancy but also info on infertility. Her site is www.earlypath.com

There is also a fertility/trying to conceive bulletin board at www.parent-2-parent.org

Good luck to your friend

people lets not make it a gender bender problem...
they understand it could be the guy..

Blockage of fellopian tubes or ovarian cyst are the most commen diagnostics problems.
This is due to excessive usage of anitibiotics in their young ages being the most commen and frequent. Obese or over weight is not an immediate issue during conception or its attempts.

The bottom line is "They all can concieve, through various means"
e.g through IVF, Gift, Insemination, inserts with out medication, or fellopian tube repair.
Completly damaged fellopian tubes candidates are also good prospects for IVF treatment.

Ovulation or egg production is linked with Harmone therapy and its a diffrent area all together.

Ps; A female child is born with set numbers of eggs enough to last her
full "child-bearing span" . Eggs are not produced in the manner of sperm production in male.

Only a specialist Doctor can diagnose the actual cases. I'm only passing on my knowledge in this matter. :D
