**Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney sat out training ahead of the Champions League quarter-final with Bayern Munich despite rumours of an unlikely return.**Rooney sustained ligament damage to his right ankle during last week’s first leg in Munich which United lost 2-1.
But United do have defender John O’Shea available again after his leg injury.
Bayern look set to recall winger Arjen Robben into their squad after his recent calf strain, while defender Daniel van Buyten is now also fit.
