If you are looking for a female ob/ gyn, make sure that the practice is all female. Y(es, they exist) as whoever is on call will come for your delivery. I made sure of that in two different states and Alhumdulillah got female doctors each time. Its common not to get a nurse on the phone with different types of doctors, a practice that is increasing. If there is a receptionist option, press that and leave a message with them personally. It usually works faster.

With the Women’s Specialist, you have to always leave a message and they call you back. But there was one time when i left a vm in early morning time and i didn’t receive a call back until 3:30ish.
For my first pregnancy I went with Dr. Weilie Tjoa. She is only associated with St. Joseph in downtown. We moved and that location was not convenient for me. (i now work in the med center.) Dr. Tjoa was great and her office was very helpful too. I also recd. her but you want someone in the med center.
