I think Sara you have nailed it. This is exactly what my experience has been too . Female managers were more like stab them in the back ! but Men managers I have worked with , seemed to be upfront , even if it was harsh ..

Also most men managers seem to be less argumentative , where as with women managers , not all , but most seem to be quite argumentative.

Again , we are not generalizing coz at the end of the day, not all men or women fit the same bill! but I guess its more to do with individual qualities of the genders ..

I have been in management roles and I feel I had to distinctly fight off a lot of stereotyping in order to be taken seriously by the males in my teams.. I guess that is what makes women a lot more aggressive at their work, coz its a battle they have to fight every day in most places ..

Personal experiences are always limited but that's what I will share. My best managers have been male, and my worst managers have been male. Female managers in general have been good, no issues at all.

Is it hard to work in a team that is being managed by a female? are male managers easier to work with? Do you hold such preference?

I personally feel its easier to work with men managers then female ones. But that could very well be my personal experience.

It is very easy to deal with Female Managers in my personal experience,
