It really hurts to see such degrading behaviour towards women. If the victims were the "cheapsters" mothers or sisters, I am pretty sure that they would strongly oppose of these acts. I don't understand why they would want to do this to someone else's sister, daughter, wife or mother? If they are so desperate then they should get married and leave other people alone.
Reminds me of a incident someone posted once, a girl was being harassed on the bus (she wore niqab), when she turned around to slap the guy..it was her brother.
Hello,
I'm happy with the feedback of all you guys. But I think the males are still in no mood to condemn it. It's natural, everyone defends one's own gender but I think every male has relationship with females. Like, mother , sister or daughter .
Male harasment is also a serious issue. But in societies like Pakistan females suffer much if they are harassed . It is considered their fault if they are harassed. .But if a male is harassing a woman and his family is aware of his acts , he is not condemned because he is a male.
The purpose of inviting males to this thread was to ask their opinion about the issue and help the females finding solutions.Because males are best aware of the psyche of their fellows. If a male joins in this thread it doesn't mean that we'll think , he is a harasser.
I'm thinking to start a new thread on male harassment by women, because it is uncommon and we'd like to know about it.But after we get some valuable solutions from males on this topic.
i think generally we have shareef guppies here :halo: so they may not relate to the dark side of harrassment faced by girls in Pakistan. as someone said earlier in the thread that she doesn’t see public harrassment as abnormal behaviour in the west, thats because women are protected by strict laws here so no one dares to cross the line. sadly in Pakistan, because of lack of legislature and its implementation, harrassment takes a serious turn because it effects ones personal life/routine on a regular basis and where one feels completely helpless and defenceless in the face of this form of bullying.
