Many sources and bcoz it can be achieved in positions not stimulating clit.

I think the damage is a case by case basis. It’s basically a wound that’s going to hurt and for her it hurts exclusively during sex. After reading the following link I think the girl has been luckier.

BTW many of the complications listed can happen with male circumcision, like recurrent infections, obstruction to urine, pain, kidney failure etc. It wud be informative to know of the %age that develop these complications. Though I guess it will be much higher than males since its mostly done by quaks while most male circumcisions are done by trained professionals.

I have a Bohri friend and we became quite close this year. She is 19 (I am 23) so she always called me baji but now that we work together on weekends, we are closer and friendlier. I always wanted to ask her if she went through FGM as I know that Bohri girls must undergo it.

Couple of weeks ago, she invited me to her home and i asked her. She said yes she got FGM done when she was around 7, in Karachi, at someone’s home and she said it was the most painful thing she has ever experienced. She couldnt walk for days.

What was more surprising to me was that my friend didnt know that the girls from other sects of Islam didnt go through it. She told me that she was shocked when she found it that her sunni girl best friends didnt have it done. She had always assumed all Muslim girls go through it.

Needless to say, I was very shocked, sad and felt bad for my friend. Unfortunately, it is a must in their community, so well… that’s the way it is.

@PyariCgudia : Ask your bohri friends, I am sure many would have gone through it but dont speak about it.
