**Female Education to Get Boost in NWFP: HEC **
ISLAMABAD, April 01 (Online): The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has approved a project of Higher Education Commission (HEC) to provide necessary infrastructure and facilities for human resource development to the newly established Frontier Women University, Peshawar. The project was approved in a recent meeting. The project initially encompasses training of 25 faculty members at the doctorate level and this will be supplemented from the pool of PhD level human resources created through the recently approved project of training 2,000 of our brightest students in top universities in USA and Europe. The investment in human resources is going to be the greatest payoff in the present century. The project includes construction of five academic blocks, an administration block, central library, hall, an auditorium and a student’s hostel to oil the wheels of this fledgling university which will facilitate education to females of the Frontier region, who choose not to take admission in co educational institutions.
Opportunities for female higher education will work towards enlightenment and promotion of integration educated women in society. This new established university aims at becoming the vehicle for gender empowerment in the area as it will help meet the critically felt needs of female students in NWFP. Projects such as these will provide the country with a pool of high quality human capital capable of innovation, forward thinking and professional quality management. A high quality education system is necessary to ensure adequate supply of qualified skilled and trained graduates.
