feeling sluggish..

really? i usually do about 4 days of cardio a week.. i dont get it. Maybe its just me, im prob buggered from the day.. i dunno (b/w by late evening i mean finishing up at 9pm)

Outy I got it.I mean my motivation is somebody making a comment such as "Why Sana you've put on a bit of weight". These comments are usually from a slim trim girl.Well Iv been quite busy from early morning.I did some running - half an hour. Then I rearranged the furniture in my room. After that I played tennis with a friend.I'll probably drop dead in a while. But I feel great.:D

Since we are at the topic of motivational factors, for myself, excitement and thrill of doing all the activities is definitely number one, and it has always been like this..that's my biggest form of entertainment. It may sound a bit odd, but I am not into watching too muchTV, or movies. Apart from occasional partying and hanging out with friends, I do lots of out doors. That's my entertainment.

The other factor got to be none other but conditioning to maintain a good shape for all sorts of activities. Currently, I am thirty two, and definitely, I have felt the need to work out more and more over the years in order to be agile and physical. It's definitely possible to be in a shape as good as let's say of a twenty five years old. But, it comes with a price called consistency It's not like you are twenty two where you can party all night and still does not skip a beat; now you will feel it. When you are in your twenties, if you don't workout for weeks, it's not really a big deal, and after couple of days of good workout sessions you feel back to normal. Now, it feels like if you don't work out, your body starts to charge you, and maintaining good timing, and cardio conditioning becomes very very crucial in order to really 'feel' it that you are in great shape, and can continue to be in the physique that you expect from yourself. I can still easily outpace most of the people in my sports who are much younger, but in order to remain in that form, I also have to workout three times harder let's say when I was in my early twenties. One thing is for certain, that mental toughness, endurance and confidence that you are able to push harder increases a lot with aging, which compensates definitely in many ways.

But we are all humans and inherently lazy so just like everyone, you have your good days and bad days. If you can motivate yourself on 70 % of the occasions to go out and get a good sweat out, I think you have done well. The rest, you need friends who share the passion for same activities, and some days you will be there for them to get their asses out, on others, they will drag you out of your cozy bed on a wet snowy day. I think it's still OK to remain in bed at least ten percent of the time :D Having friends who are better in skill level also helps, since they are able to push you and motivate you harder. Environment and surroundings help a lot too, for that reason I chose Vancouver; the city I knew would be perfect for my lifestyle.

But most importantly, you just got to enjoy what you do. Sometimes, I feel that life is just too short and you get to live only once, and then you just have this urge to do everything 'rightnow'. I don't know, maybe i am a bit whacko sometimes..or maybe I will grow up some day..but then i don't want to.. :D

^ that doesnt sound wacko at all… and hence u dont need to grow up :k:

but ur scaring me about hitting th 30 mark :bummer:

Outy for me working out is never fun. It's just so boring. And oh no!What am I going to do in winter.I dont think I want to go running early morning when its -50 outside. However, I love being fit.I mean ofcourse its not a nice feeling to be out of shape or flabby. Im trying to find activities/sports that I enjoy so that I dont have to get bored with the usual forms of working out.Iv already found tennis, but now that I think about it, the real problem will be winter.

I'm staying with my sister these days (England) and I always overeat when I'm here :o Mostly junkfood. SO this is what I have been doing ever since I got here; go out for a jog every other day and looooong walks in the evening. There's a beautiful river about 2 mins walking distance from where my sis lives. It's sooooo beautiful, I don't even have to motivate myself. Weather is perfect too :)
If only we had a place like this in Holland (close to our home)
Back home it's a lot harder to stay motivated :-/
