so have you been to iran? i dont know why i feel this but i always think if mughal and muslim dynasties were allowed to rule till now or few years back...indo-pak would be quite similar to today's iran

my friend went to iran and he was shia but they rejected him for Mutah so he was heart brokern
our dynasties were decayed and we would be a lot backward if Mughals ruled till now.More like Afghanistan, Iran became modern in one decade of raza shah pahlavi reforms

lol we tried but militarily iranis were strong in the 16th to 19th century
so mughals tried but failed to capture qandhar also it wud be thankless to govern unruly baloch tribes so mughals wisely left them alone

yes little...radio zaheedan the mouth piece of iran in pakistan had the music of Pink Floyd's time ( from dark side of the Moon) in the background ..we used to laugh our asses off when it started and after that they spilled the venom against america
we had a HUGE pic of Khomeini in our living room and got some propoganda pamplets in the mail.

during my childhood i have memory of soviet propaganda magazines.....they used to print them on quality paper...i think you didnt have them in pakistan

oh lots of old tunes from english movies were used as background music of PTV too. :)
any memory of PTV's fix format khabarnama and ads in between 'mere gaon main bijli aai hai' and 'ab to gas lage gi ghar ghar main'

I know what a waste, I have a big Soviet fetish since childhood I hated the afghan "mujahideen" and collected cold war era soviet books ( still have them )

I liked the one called 'gola'. it was put in gas stove for a minute and then the stone enveloped in net burnt like a bulb. We then used to place that under jaman tree in our home in night for a few moments. Birds in the tree made noises like its morning time.
