Re: Feeling genuinely sorry for Pakistani fans…
^Good points Sehar.
I hear you but I don’t.
We are not talking about an average person on the street…but a widely-travelled national cricket captain - an ambassador of your country’s brand. He better be politically correct…esp when his country is trying hard to mend relationship with a country full of Hindus. Or does Afridi really think that whatever he says to a Pakistani Television channel will remain within Pakistan in this day of YouTube, Facebook, blogs, Twitter etc. If Afridi cannot be politically correct…he has no business in that job.
And even Bangladesh is predominantly Muslim…but I don’t see their players (not even their fans) bringing up Hindu-Muslim stuff in their cricket discussions. I visit their cricket forum often and I can tell you they are as emotional (if not more) about their cricket as Indians/Pakistanis. Yet on the rare occasions when somebody brings up religion into the discussion, more often than not it is roundly rebuked.
