How do you feed fruits and veggies to a toddler who refuses to take them in sliced form? considering that you dont want to puree it coz the toddler has moved on to the next stage and eating other things nicely but simply refuses the fruits.
I have tried smoothies. Somewhat successful. But need to explore new methods of preparing toddler food .. help please?
My LO loved to eat the whole thing…the orange with its skin (he would eat it all.) If i cut it up he wouldn’t eat it. But we visited pakistan for 3 weeks back in april and once we came back he stopped eating all fruits we were slowing introducing them to him again but thn he broke his front tooth and could have anything too hard for a good month. And now we are back to groud zero. BUT to make sure he gets his fruits…we give him a milk shake each night
I would suggest leaving the fruit infront of the toddler and let them play with it and eat it as well.
My problem is that he is not eating fruit in its actual form. I dont want him getting used to the pureed form either. That is why the struggle to see how I can use variation to get him interested in fruit and veg.
Rabia, the same happened to my kid too. We left for pakland at a time when I was trying to get him used to eating fruit and veg in bite sized pieces. In Pakistan , he stopped eating all together. When we returned he is simply not entertaining any fruit or veg.
Do post more pics of the decorations you do .. I will try it on a smaller scale with baby , he is only still 13 months and tries to play with stuff instead of eating it.
CB do you give your LO cooked veggies…like making desi stuff ( gobi aloo, bhindi ki subzi, veggie fried rice, veggie/keema shami kabob…etc.) I was really worried that the LO wasn’t eating fruits anymore but his doc. said as long as he is eating his veggies (which my little one does,) thats whats important at this age. Made me a little relaxed. Trip to pakistan messes everything…as far as their schedule go.
Just put the food in front of him and let him do whatever he likes as in playing etc. He will eat eventually. Just offer him his fruits/veggies everyday.
Initially, my son was not quite into fruits that were chopped or sliced. He preferred a whole strawberry (big mess!), blueberries, whole apples. He had quite a few teeth so biting into apple wasn’t too difficult. I think around 15 months, he got more interested in fruits. He loved watching me slice them on the cutting board and got more interested in fruits.
