Hi
I want to start feeding my bubba water as it is suppose to be really good for them as its helps to clear their system - especially formula fed babies.
Do you guys know how much I should feed him and how often?

Re: Feeding bubba water
How old is your child? Babies don't really need water or juices until they start solids (and then only small amounts). Filling up on water can cause them to drink less milk and they won't get the appropriate intake of calories.
Re: Feeding bubba water
Hi Sahar
Thanks for your reply. My little one is nearly 3 months now. Apparantly giving them water is a good thing as it helps to clear their stomach especially if they are formula fed. My health visitor advised this. The water is not meant to replace the food, its meant to be given in between feeds, so after the baby has been fed and before tehir next feed.
I just thought i'd ask if anyone else is giving their babies water and how they were finding it etc.....
But thanks for your advise anyway x
Re: Feeding bubba water
I guess the approach is really different in the US.
Hiw much does your health visitor suggest?
Re: Feeding bubba water
HV suggested to give an ounce or so. I just spoke to my friend and have just found out that she does the same too. Shee feeds her daughter an ounce of water every morning and once during the day as she formula feeds too. And she has said that it really helped her little one with constipation problems. So I guess I will try doing the same thing too. I'll keep you updated as to how it goes. Its just a matter of finding the right time now to feed him water, as all he seems to do is sleep and eat and sleep some more and keep mama and papa up till late! :)
Re: Feeding bubba water
Yes, for constipation you're encouraged to give water. You might even mix prune juice into the bottle, if the doc or hw says it's okay.
