So it’s official, what people in NWFP have been complaining about for decades has been confirmed by an independent panel. The federal government has been depriving NWFP of it’s right of royalty amounting: to almost 2 billion dollars from 1991 to 2006 and probably 4 billion dollars if one includes the period between 1973 to 1990. One can guessetimate how many billions have from the Baloch (in their case stretching back since the 1950’s). One can only hope that the opponents of development and provincial rights in Islamabad don’t find a way of defaulting once again.
