Just because a food or drug is FDA approved does NOT mean it will not have any side effects. In fact, most if not all drugs have side effects but they are approved by FDA because the side effects are not severe and/or positive effects outweigh the negative effects.

And because of this approval the drug companies are bound to inform the doctors public about all those side effects to let the patients/doctors/customers make an informed decision as to if they want to use those drugs and products.
