At least he is honest about ti, unlike the other opposition politicians who speak about the restoration of the judges, but who past practices show how they treated the judiciary.
Fazl doesn’t support judges’ restoration
ISLAMABAD: Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) Secretary General Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday refused to support the reinstatement of deposed judges of the Supreme Court and high courts including sacked chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
Speaking at a ceremony hosted by the South Asian Free Media Association (SAFMA), Fazl said that he supported the independence of judiciary, but would not favour reinstatement of the deposed CJP and other judges, who had taken oath under a PCO in 1999. Fazl’s remarks created uproar in the hall, with a large number of participants shouting “Shame! Shame!”
Replying to an angry participant’s comments that he wanted to become a deputy prime minister, Fazl said, “I want to become the prime minister. What do you mean by deputy prime minister?”
Re: Fazlur Rehman doesn’t support judges’ restoration
making fazlur rehman the pm would actually be a very good move on the part of musharraf because it would shut up goras and their disciples in pak. in fact i would not be surprised if govt has already made a deal with maulana through which he has been promised a very big role. also given that maulana knows how to deal with his opponents, his role in govt will benefit musharraf because maulana will deal with opposition a little differently than shaulat aziz did.
Re: Fazlur Rehman doesn’t support judges’ restoration
