So, a light evening snack is always much appreciated meal that I have been witnessing since my childhood. Evening tea is a ritual in my family and I even as a kid never being big fan of this but this is in my blood and i now follow it like anything (inherited from my mother)
What are your favourites traditional shami kabab, Pakistani bazar samosa, dahi bhallas, patties or something nowadays we applaud i.e packet chips (any kind of), muffins, pop corns or anything you eat.
My favourite evening snack is Pakistani Bazar samosas (even after listening and reading so much about the abusive use of oil and all health apprehensions related to it), Simple chocolate, marble or coffee cake, and masoor kee daal ka nimko. SHare yours favourite snack
Ohh its always been tea and biscuits for me .. or maybe a bit of cake ..
Never had spicy food for evening tea .. though when I went to Pakistan I realized people love having nice and spicy stuff for afternoon tea and honestly I loved the trend .. when i came back from my holiday I found my tea and biscuits quite a boring snack !
I told you its ritual in my family and we all follow, usually it is biscuits, nimko and very oftenly Patties and cake. Samosas, chicken bread etc are you can say may be twice in a month
no ! buss my husband takes it after dinner (and lunch if he is home for it) and I DONT take tea at all.. coffee once a week or every two weeks maybe but NO tea bilkul bhi..
I love sweets after lunch or evening meal. It’s usually store bought cookies, brownies…although I try not to keep these around as I can’t stop munching once I start . So unfortunately munching has become a bad ritual at my place. If I don’t have these snacks it would be better for my figure. Fruits are the best…fruit chat would be ideal but I hate cutting up fruit.
How about gajar halwa …it’s good for your eyesight…
i snack ALL the time so afternoon/evening snack has NO special place in my life! i like “tali huii hari maTar” [fired green peas]…fresh ones are the best…frozen ones come a distant second! isii liye i LOVE going to iNdia in winter…get to peel our own green pea pods and fry them fresh…yummy!!!
i can’t even imagine a day without evening tea. It’s a must for me and husband, normally it’s chai with biscuits. And when we have family around then its samosa’s, halwa, chaat and more.
no such rituals in my house. my parents have chai in the morning and that’s it. sometimes they have chai in the evening on the weekends as well but that’s it.
I love chai and desi snacks … but now there is a limit to it. Unfortunately I have to control what I eat at evenings, otherwise I would look like an elephant, so I have normal meals till lunch, then its less quantity food and certainly not samoosas or other pakistani goodies. :-/
I dont drink tea, but when I was visiting Pakistan, I used to participate in afternoon and evening tea. In the afternoon, there would be a mix of sweet and salty snacks. Usually pastries, cookies, chicken patties, spring rolls, samosas, shami kebobs, or pakoras (not all at the same time - but these are what we would usually have). At evening chai, it would be whatever was left over from afternoon chai. My favourites are the coconut pastries and chicken patties from Gourmet!!!
