Favorite firefox extensions

ReloadEvery

Extension lets you reload webpages every so often. Great for ebay bids and browsing certain Gupshup forums

After installation, restart firefox, right-click on webpage, select ReloadEvery > Enable and select a time period. Just don’t have “reloadevery” enabled while you are typing a message, otherwise page refresh will swallow your message!

Please share your favorite extensions.

Re: Favorite firefox extensions

Ok! I am using the following four:

1- Tabbrowser Preference
2- PDF Download
3- Forecast Fox
4- Adblock

Re: Favorite firefox extensions

I don't think I've got any Firefox extensions. I still love IE, but I don't use it as much due to all the security holes that it has.

Re: Favorite firefox extensions

Sadiyah - Have you ever considered that using firefox extensions will also extend your laptop battery life?

WitchDr - rock on!

Ok latest favourite: Foxy Tunes
Lets you play music within the browser and supports a butt load of players (windows media, winamp, itunes etc). I’ve heard people complain about itunes and JRiver not working, but I’ve only tried windows media player. So far so good :k:

Re: Favorite firefox extensions

keep 'em coming basdoosta... those r nice!

Re: Favorite firefox extensions

The 3 extensions I use the most are:

1) Sage - RSS reader
2) InfoRSS - a second RSS read I have running at the same time to give headlines from Guardian, Yahoo & BBC along the bottom of the screen
3) Orkut toolbar extension

Re: Favorite firefox extensions

Lol, talk about hardcore Orkut.

I use “Blog this” and AdBlock (plus the Filterset.G Updater) extensively. Others include NoScript, IEView, GMail Notifier and tested out the Azan one. Had to edit as i don’t have them on my laptop.

Re: Favorite firefox extensions

FlashGot,
Download one link, selected links or all the links of a page at the maximum speed with a single click, using the most popular external download managers for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and FreeBSD (dozens currently supported products, see http://www.flashgot.net for details). FlashGot offers also a Build Gallery functionality which helps to synthetize full media galleries in one page, from serial contents previously scattered on several pages, for easy and fast “download all”.

Re: Favorite firefox extensions

Bandoosta, I'd only believe you if you could send me a new battery pack. Then I could install all the extensions that you suggest just to see how long my battery lasts. :p

Re: Favorite firefox extensions

Maddy, Tofi and Sh3ry - Notice how y’all nicks ryhme :k:

Sadiyah - I carry around a five year old Dell Inspiron 5000. It’s one and only battery only lasts for a good hour and 15 mins max…more than enough time to use a couple of extensions and then switch back to power outlets :snooty:

Latest obsession: GreaseMonkey

  • Customize a website based on your preferences.
  • Fix any annoyances or bugs you might find with a website.
  • Merge functionality from multiple webpages into one.
  • Abitility to cater for both user and developers needs.

All this and much more brought to you through the magical Javascript language. Be warned however, greasemonkey was recently identified as a security risk in FF so use at you own discretion.

See anything different?

Re: Favorite firefox extensions

Very nice Bandoo. Will have to try it out.

Re: Favorite firefox extensions

My favourites would be

1- Webdeveloper Extension - A must have for any webdeveloper out there

2- IEView- Right click on any page and click on the IEView link to launch internet explorer on that page. I use it all the time to check if my sites work on IE properly too or not. Saves a few clicks and types :)

Re: Favorite firefox extensions

Is there an Extension for FireFox to be able to show WML pages? I'm disappointed that it doesn't support WML by default as oppsed to Opera.

Re: Favorite firefox extensions

^ see extension WML browser

Introducing IE Tab

No more opening new Internet Explorer windows. Use FireFox to open IE specific pages in a new tab. I was finally able to open Web Outlook from the saftey of firefox and it looked awesome…yay. Warning: No Back/Forward button support yet, however ALT+leftkey and ALT+rightkey work just as well. Extension will probably not work if you have a bad Internet Explorer problem from the start.

Usage:
Right-click on a page or link and select “Open in IE Tab”
Tools > IE Tab Options > IE Tab Site Filter . Add entries to always open certain webpages in IE tabs only .

Re: Favorite firefox extensions

The only 2 plugins that I am using with FF right now are FireFox Preloader and Google Toolbar.
