Favorite English writer

Who is your favorite english author? and which book or series do you like and why. Don’t give away plots just tell about style of writing. I’m a very author oriented reader and am looking for recommendations :slight_smile:

I like Jeffery Archer...he is very good at fiction writing Some call him master story teller............:)

I am not into fiction but in non fiction, Stanley Wolpert, Ramchandra Guha, Sir V S Naipaul,Khushwant Singh, Willam Dlarymple,Mark Tully

Yes,the very same, His Amritsar:Mrs gandhi's last battle, Non stop India are marvellous peace of writing, right equal of him is MJ Akbar of times groups

I also like reading Khushwant Singh & William Darlymple. Besides those Karen Armstrong is my favorite author when it comes to history.

Yes, Karen Armstrong is more into history of abhrahic relgion:), I heard Bruce Riedel is also good when it comes to politics of war on terror in Af-Pak region, His books are still in champ section, I am yet to look into him:)

Yes if you have interest in the topic these writers cover, you must give them a try.

BTW, most of the works by Khushwant Singh are fiction.
