Ok girls…i’m a rust, brown, light golden gloss girl..BUT i have this awesome black benarsi chiffon sari that i’m going to wear with gold jewelery, golden eye shadow and I want to get a nice deep red lipstick.
I just went to sephora and came back with a color to bright for me…
NARS red lizard…
ugh..does anyone have another color they like?

If it's too bright you could always mix in another shade. I don't know much about make up, but that's what I do. :p

Black generally looks awesome with a cherry-like (dark dark red) color/shade, so if I were you I'd go for a dark red lipstick :)
And in future try out a sample before buying the thing :p

I have some nice red shades by MAC and Estee Lauder. Actually, the Estee Lauder one is a really dark pink but it actually looks more red. It’s nice.
I don’t really like the L’Oreal/Revlon red shades as they are more for white/light people.

It really depends on your skin tone. I have three or four different ones I like from MAC:
Mystic, Retro, Del Rio, Russian Red, Brick-o-La ... and there are more, but I can't remember then off hand. :(
Mystic is more dark, but it looks good on brown skin. Retro is really nice and bright (not yucky bright, don't worry). Del Rio is a bit more brownish red.
Just try out different shades and see how you like it.
For Elizabeth Arden, I have Cocoa #12, but it's a bit pricey ... but worth it.

Sumptous Scarlet by Loreal. Its the most red shade i could find and not look pinkish. I am not a fan of pinkish red.

^ that’s a good one.. also the revlon deep red works miracles with black suiting n black eye kohls… even if u have a dark complexion
i always use darker shades with blackened eyes… but if ure hair are any other color than black/black-brown … don’t use this eye-lip make..up
if ure hair are medium brown … medium brown lipstick would be really a good one.. but not liver brown… n moreover add a lil golden to it… or just give it a red outline…a lil red outline gives it a perfect look.

Kiss Me Red by L'Oreal is very red but I find it too bright on me.

You have to try one on your lips. A red color which looks perfect on my mom's lips appears too bright on my lips. That depends on your natural lips tone. What suits me might not suit you. Always try carefully before buying.

I returned all the stuff to sephora and went to MAC bought their new 8 hour wear Pro long wear lustre lip couleur in Alta Moda....Nice deep red with a shine....
