Hain… kaunsa response… lemme check

First of all, I always enjoy when liberal muslims (not to imply that you are a liberal or a muslim, oops!, sorry

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/smile.gif

) quote the ayat “Let there be no compulsion in religion”, to justify anything.

Well to get back to the point, are you aware that there is a school of thought in Islam which suggests that any muslim who deliberately does not pray is following the hukm of shaitaan as against that of Allah. And for missing fard namaz, and not following the order of Allah, a muslim is outside the circle of Islam. Are you aware that by inference it means that any muslim who deliberately misses a namaz is infact “murtid” (the one who turns his back on the truth - Islam - after embracing the truth). And what is the punishment of a “murtid”? Death, right?

I am not saying I agree to this interpretation. All I am saying is that there is a valid opinion of muslim scholars who subscribe to this ruling. It is for this reason that there is a special police in Saudi Arabia which enforces the islamic law and FORCES all men (even christians or hindus, in some instances!) to go to masjid and pray when it is time of namaaz.

This happens in Saudi Arabia and so it is also enforced in Afghanistan. Why criticize just one of them?

Beard: Okay, I am sure you are aware that an over-whelming majority of muslim scholars agree that beard is mandatory for muslim men. You may not agree to it. But this is a fact.

So, Talibaan are only enforcing faraidh.

Re: Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) and his actions. I am sure you are aware of the importance he placed on prayers and the strong punishments he had fortold for those who miss prayers. The muslim ummah, in todays time, are lazy and happy-go-lucky, and don’t really care. Do you think, in Medina, at that time, any muslim man would deliberately miss a prayer, or not have a beard?

So, dear friend, compulsion or not, it seems that it is the responsibility of Islamic government to enforce sharia. Here masjid is part and parcel of state and not like USA/UK where church is separate from state.

Brother PeaceMaker:

Thank you for your response, after all you are not ignoring me!

And THANK YOU more for making it clear that Hazrat Muhammad (saw) who we consider the founder of Islam never FORCED anyone for prayers & growing beard, and so I rest my case …

The day I will consider Saudi or Talaban govt my role models, I will surely look into their interpretation. But I think I have a much better role model in Hazoor Paak (saw) …

And Yes, you are more than welcome to follow the Talaban & Saudi Govt. contrary to the teaching of Rasool (saw) … as after all **I do **believe in Quran and especially the ayyat:
Let there be no compulsion in religion. Truth stands out clear from Error. (2:256/257) and so I cann’t force you to change your role model…

Peace!! Especially for you!
