Well Islam as practiced NOW is a religion (like many other religions).
You are not alone. All of us were taught the same thing as part of the elementary school education.
However some of us grew up and went looking for truth that exists way beyond elementary school.
Yes the Mullah said it, and so did our parents, that Islam is “complete code”.
But that’s all figure of speech.
Complete code should tell us how to build roads, set up traffic system, and then design and manufacture cars.
But Aaah, you would say, complete code doesn’t mean it would tell us how to build roads.
And so my friend you yourself will open doors for exceptions in the “complete code”.
And those exceptions are norm in 21st century, though they may vary from society to society and country to country.
And thus “complete code” becomes more like a myth than reality.
