Re: Father’s Day Special
I am hoping my 4 year old can scribble on a hand made card for father’s day and give it that sentimental value, and we can just go out for dinner. That will make me so happy if I wont have to cook and if mommy is happy, daddy will be happy and that is a good enough father’s day gift…![]()
Re: Father’s Day Special
CB, my father has long passed away…i pray for my parents everyday but i usually skip praying on father’s or mother’s day…do you think i should pray for them on this day? would that be considered un-Islamic/bid’a?
i know that all depends on the niyat [a’maal bin niyaat] but resemblance with non-Muslim ce4lebration/festivities/events is like being one of them [as per Hadees?]?
Re: Father’s Day Special
If the Christians go to their churches, read their Bible and pray on Sundays…does that mean you will avoid going to the mosque, reading Quran, praying and making dua on Sundays? If you usually don’t make dua for your parents and make it a special point to do so on Mother’s/Father’s Day, then you would be singling out these non-Muslim holidays. However, if it is your daily hasb-e-mamool to pray for your parents daily, then you would not be singling out or making Mother’s/Father’s Day special occasions. If let’s say someone’s parents are in some dire emergency, an accident or illness, should we avoid making dua to Allah for them simply because it happens to be the non-Muslim folks’ Mother’s Day? Hmm?
Re: Father’s Day Special
thank you…so, it’s a OK to pray for your deceased loved ones [parents] even on such days as Mother’s and Father’s Day if you have been doing it on a daily basis…you made so much sense. ![]()
Re: Father’s Day Special
KKF, I am sorry about your loss. May his soul be in peace and in the best place In Shaa Allah. I guess its ok to do dua for them since you do it everyday. Father’s day is just a day, dont let it come in the way of making your daily dua for your parents.
Re: Father’s Day Special
Gone are the days for me ! My son learned to say cake and I asked him what he wants for Father’s day and guess what he said ? “cake” there we go , I gotta make one now !
Re: Father’s Day Special
U don’t haaaaaaaaave to make a cake, you know. Does your son call biryani and nihari “cake” as well? If so…
Re: Father’s Day Special
nope Indigo, he knows the cake really well
I did try to dupe him but hey kids these days are too clever to get caught in this stuff .. so yeah cake it will be ![]()
Re: Father’s Day Special
You made a real valid point though but yes we can make dua for parents everyday regardless of what Non Muslims are doing as dua in our religion is the core of Ibadat. May Allah forgive your parents and give them high ranks in jannah ameen
However if you need to ask purely on Islamic basis then answer from scholar would help as we all are laymen and can only give our opinion which cannot be a final verdict
