By rights if the son was given a head start in life, he should do better. Yeah expectations for sons doing better are always there. In your friends case, I think he is a bigger loser in the sense that he whines that his father is putting pressure on him. He went to his father for a loan to run a business and for some reason, that I dont know, the business crashed. Why did he not go to a financial institution is pretty obvious, what he doesnt understand is that when you borrow from family the expectations for success are even higher, particularly when the father gave him his retirement savings.
