A friend of mine is in a weird love/hate relationship with his dad. Uncle used to be a quite successful guy in his youth. He had a lot of style, charisma and wealth. Unfortunately, things took a U turn and he is in a sort of financial crisis nowadays. My friend, who is in his mid thirties, is not as ‘successful’ as his dad. He has two kids and a wife and nothing seems to be working for him. Jobs in Pakistan don’t pay much and every business he tries ends up in a failure. He borrowed money from his dad and invested in a business which crashed. Now dad thinks he is a dumb ass, whereas he thinks if dad was smart he should still have money in his bank. There is this weird competition going on between father and son. There is a sarcasm galore in their house…Is there a competition between dad and son? Do dads expect their sons to be as successful as them, if not more..

I believe that regardless of how succesful a father is, he always wishes for his kids (sons and daughters) to be even more succesful.
At least I would have that wish for my children. So I don't think I'd enter into a competition with them, neither do I have one with my dad.

By rights if the son was given a head start in life, he should do better. Yeah expectations for sons doing better are always there. In your friends case, I think he is a bigger loser in the sense that he whines that his father is putting pressure on him. He went to his father for a loan to run a business and for some reason, that I dont know, the business crashed. Why did he not go to a financial institution is pretty obvious, what he doesnt understand is that when you borrow from family the expectations for success are even higher, particularly when the father gave him his retirement savings.

Cant do emath, i had to sell even my calculator after last weeks market performance. I am going to south beach miami, as that is the only place they will let me live in my current state, PCG guide me.
